"Cowboy Extravaganza"
We are gearing up once again for the "Cowboy Extravaganza" in support of Amazing Avens Quest for Amoeba Awareness. Aven's New York friends and family and Diamond D Performance Horses are teaming up to host this incredible event that will include Ranch Sorting and a Calcutta in addition to numerous chances to win some incredible prizes while also supporting the foundation.
The event will take place in Groveland, New York on September 21st and will include raffle items, auctions, and a chance to win 5 incredible raffle items with the purchase of a $10 raffle ticket.
If you are in Western NY we would love to see you on the 21st for what is certain to be a fun day! Join us in person to expereince the thrill of ranch sorting!
If you are unable to attend in person you may purchase $10 raffle tickets anytime leading up to the event. A $10 ticket provides you the chance to win 1/2 Angus Beef, Colorado Log Cabin Star Quilt, Winchester 20 Gun safe, Yeti Roadie 32 Cooler and a Batavia Downs Gaming Getaway. We all know that Aven loved NY and loved farm life. There is no doubt in my mind that he loves this fundraiser more than just about anything that we do. Thank you to Diamond D performance Horses and our NY friends and family for your support! The funds raised at the Cowboy Extravaganza will help support us on our mission to prevent future tragedies caused by the amoeba naegleria fowleri. We hope to see many of you on the 21st!
Aven's Acts of Kindness 2024
Join us again this year as we work to spread joy and happiness in Aven’s memory. Through random acts of kindness we hope to bring a smile to the face of many while also helping to spread awareness around the deadly amoeba naegleria fowleri. During this week which is the 3rd anniversary of Aven’s passing we hope to remember his life and legacy by bringing joy to those around us. Please join us by sharing a “random act of kindness.” The possibilities are endless and no act is too big or too small. Simply print off the kindness cards, complete an act of kindness, take a picture and upload it to our Facebook page or use the hashtag #amaingaven.
Avens Quest 3rd Annual Holiday Drive
Aven spent many holidays in the hospital. To honor his memory we are hosting our 3rd Annual Toy Drive to support children and families who are hospitalized over the holiday season. Aven had a heart for giving and a smile that would light up any room. With your help we can continue to share that joy and bring smiles to the faces of children who are facing medical challenges.
Over the last 2 years we have donated over 42,000 in gifts to local hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses in the Triangle. With your help we hope to surpass tht number this year.

2nd Annual Toy Drive
We are so excited to roll out Amazing Avens Quest for Amoeba Awareness 2nd Annual Toy Drive!
Last year just 3 months after we lost our sweet boy we held our first toy drive. We had zero idea what to expect but boy did this community, our friends, family, and total strangers throughout the nation show up and show up BIG! Last year in our first year we collected over $16,000 worth of toys and gifts that were then donated back to our local Children’s hospital and the Ronald McDonald House. This year we have set our goal even higher. We have hopes of reaching more families and spreading the gifts to more hospitals throughout our state but we need your help.
All items MUST be new, unopened, non-religious and not contain any food or beverages. By clicking the link below or scanning the QR code on the flier you will be taken to an amazon wish list. If you chose to purchase off the wish list items will be sent directly to us. If you would like to purchase items on your own and get your family involved, you may do so as well. If doing so please attach the receipt or make note of the fair market value for us for tax purposes. We need gifts for all ages! The Drive will run through December 18th so that items may be packaged and delivered prior to Christmas.
Diamond D Performance Horse Fundraiser
Diamond D Performance Horses held a fundraiser for the foundation on September 25th 2022 at their final Round Robin Sorting event of the year in Groveland, NY. It was a fun day of cattle sorting, a Calcutta, a cash cooler giveaway, live auction and 50/50. In addition to having a great day doing something Aven Loved (riding horses on the farm) over $8,922 was raised!
Avens Quest Fundraiser at the Carolina Mudcats
On August 19th over 200 friends, family members and members of our community came out to support Amazing Aven’s Quest for Amoeba Awareness at the Carolina Mudcats Baseball game. Aven loved baseball and we couldnt think of a better way to spread awareness, raise money and bring everyone together for a fun night out. Volunteers handed out “Swim Safe” bracelets and brochures to hundreds of families while kids and adults alike enjoyed the game. Lots of ice cream and funnel cakes were eaten and John and Gene were even given the opportunity to throw out the first pitch at the game! The foundation raised over $1,200 and we all had a wonderful evening “Playing For Aven.”
The Adventures of Amazing Aven Book Release Party
Come join us to celebrate the release of our new Children’s book The Adventures of Amazing Aven! This book full of adventures is sure to captivate your heart and includes special stories and illustrations from the life of Aven Moffat.

Amazing Avens Chicken BBQ Fundraiser
On Friday April 22nd, 2022 we held our first chicken BBQ Fundraiser. Volunteers gathered early to begin cooking and by 11:30 we were began serving chicken, green beans, potatoes, bread and desserts to individuals from local businesses. We sold over 500 plates and raised over $11,000! We are so thankful to those that donated and for our volunteers. We look forward to holding more BBQ’s in the future!
1st Annual Toy Drive for UNC Children's Hospital
Throughout Aven’s short 6 years of life, he spent numerous holidays at UNC Children’s Hospital. In his memory, we are hosting a toy drive to honor him! Aven loved to give and was constantly putting others first. In the spirit of giving, please join us in support of Amazing Avens Quest for Amoeba Awareness, and let’s put a smile on the faces of patients and their families this holiday season.

Norse Brewery Fundraiser
Norse Brewery is partnering with us to host a fundraiser on Sunday, October 24, from 2 pm-6 pm for the Amazing Aven's Quest for Amoeba Awareness Foundation.
There will be live music, a DJ, rock garden painting, face painting, a raffle, silent auction, a fire truck, t-shirts, and a great day to celebrate Aven's life and legacy. It will be a fun day for the whole family.
C&C’s Chicken BBQ and Raffle Fundraiser
Welcome to C&C's Annual Chicken BBQ and Raffle Fundraiser! Here's the details you might be looking for:
The price for a dinner is staying the same at just $12! We will have bottled water for $1 each and raffle tickets are the same at $1 each as well. It is being held on Saturday October 23rd from noon to 4pm. The drawing for the raffle baskets will be announced a little later. So be sure to check back for updates.
2020's pandemic put the plans for not only Chaundacey's Sweet Sixteen party, but also our traditional fundraising adventure on the "Not Gonna Happen" list. That is until we came up with the idea to turn the catered chicken bbq into the fundraiser. So we have reinvented this annual tradition that started back in October of 2005. Chaun is a miracle child. As a way to show my gratitude for her in my life, I made the choice to be a positive force in the world each year around our birthdays. 2020 was our biggest and best fundraiser to date! Many people kept wanting to know if we were going to do it again because they loved it. We thought about it and even though it was a lot of work for us, we had a lot of fun. The best part was our take away from it. Livingston County New York is the most awesome county! We love this generous, caring, helpful place. So we're bringing our chicken bbq back again!
A new spin this year is that we are only chosing two of the causes to donate to. The other organizations we will donate to from this fundraiser will be going to causes that our food donors choose. We like teamwork and without these donations, I'm not sure we could bring such a great event to the public. Some benefactors from last year will be the same, but we are keeping some plans a surprise. What can I say? We love surprising people.

Amazing Aven's Quest for Amoeba Awareness is committed to raising awareness, early detection, and advancing medical treatment for Maegleria Fowleri and Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM). This sadly took this little angel from us too soon.
